## About
A projector's throw ratio is the distance to the screen divided by the picture width. Enter the throw ratio (or the near and far ratios of a zoom lens), the screen diagonal and aspect ratio, and the calculator gives the distance range. Or enter the room depth to see the largest picture it can make. Use the throw ratio printed in the projector's specifications.

## How to use

2. The result updates automatically as you type.
3. Copy or note the figures you need.

## FAQ
**What is throw ratio?** The projection distance divided by the width of the picture. A ratio of 1.5 means a 2 m wide picture needs the projector 3 m from the screen.

**What if my room is short?** Choose a short-throw projector (throw ratio under about 1) or a smaller picture. Ultra-short-throw models sit just centimetres from the wall.

**Is the Projector Throw Distance Calculator free?** Yes, with no sign-up or limits.
