How to use the Reading Goal Planner (Finish Date and Books per Year)

1. Enter the date you start, or leave it blank for today.
2. Enter the pages in your book, how many pages you read a day and your reading speed.
3. Enter a yearly goal in books and the average number of pages.
4. Read your finish date and the daily reading needed to reach your goal.

Example

Worked example (320 pages at 20 a day from 1 January 2027, 24 books of 320 pages a year, 40 pages an hour)

• Days to finish: 16, finishing on 16 January 2027
• Time each day: 30 minutes
• Yearly goal: 24 × 320 = 7,680 pages, which is 21.0 pages a day or 32 minutes
• At 20 pages a day: 22.8 books a year

Limitations

• It assumes you read every day at the same pace.
• Page counts vary by edition, and audiobooks are not covered.
• Reading speed varies a lot with the book, so adjust it for each one.
• The finish date uses whole days and counts the start date as day one.
