## About
Open a screenshot or photo, drag over anything private (names, email addresses, account numbers, faces), choose a solid black box or pixelation, and download the result. Saving re-draws the picture onto a fresh canvas, so metadata such as camera details and location is not carried over. Redaction is applied to the pixels, so it cannot be undone in the saved file. Work on a copy, and remember that blur is weaker than a solid box for text: use black boxes for anything sensitive. Your image never leaves your device.

## How to use

## FAQ
**Is blurring safe for passwords or account numbers?** No. Blurred or pixelated text can sometimes be partly reconstructed. Use the solid black box for anything sensitive.

**Does it remove metadata?** Yes. The saved copy is drawn onto a new canvas, so EXIF data such as camera model and GPS location is not included.

**Is my screenshot uploaded?** No. It is processed in your browser.

**Is the Screenshot Privacy Editor free?** Yes, with no sign-up or limits.
