- Choose Unlimited for a new random country whenever you like, or Daily country for the same country everyone gets that day. Switch between kilometres and miles at any time.
Example
Worked example (distances between country centres, calculated with this tool’s formula)
- Mystery country France, guess Germany: About 758 km away, pointing south-west, shown as a warm colour
- Guess Japan: About 9,889 km away, pointing north-west, shown as cold blue
- Guess France: Correct, with the distance shown as 0
Limitations
- Distances are measured between the central point of each country, not between borders, so a large country such as Russia or Canada can be much closer than its centre suggests.
- The game lists 194 independent countries. Territories, disputed places and some alternative spellings are not included, so use the full common name.
- The arrow is the compass direction along the shortest route from your guess towards the mystery country.
- Country positions come from an open dataset and are approximate.
- This is an independent game and is not affiliated with any publisher or other game of a similar style.
