How to use the Spider Solitaire (1, 2 or 4 Suits)

1. Pick one, two or four suits. One suit is the easiest and four suits is the classic hard game.
2. Click a face-up card, then click the column you want to move it to. A card can go on any card one rank higher, such as a 6 on a 7, and a run of cards of the same suit in descending order moves together.
3. Click Deal a row to add one card to every column. Every column must have at least one card before you deal.
4. When you build a full run of one suit from king to ace, it is removed. Remove all eight runs to win. Use Undo as often as you like and Hint if you are stuck.

Example

Worked example (a fictional position)

• Moving a run: Columns show 9♠ on top of one column, 8♠ and 7♠ below it in another. Clicking the 8♠ selects 8♠ and 7♠ together as a run, and clicking the column with the 9♠ moves both
• Moving different suits: A 6♥ can be placed on a 7♠ because only the rank matters for placing, but 6♥ and 7♠ will not move together later because they are different suits
• Clearing a run: King to ace of one suit in one column are removed at once and the card beneath is turned face up

Limitations

• Games are dealt at random, and some deals cannot be won, especially at four suits.
• You cannot deal a new row while any column is empty, which is the usual rule.
• The hint finds a sensible move but it is not a solver and cannot tell you if the game can be won.
• The game is not saved if you leave the page.
